Reasons for hate towards the family
When you share close quarters with other people, it is understandable to feel the friction. There are very many sources of problems within a household, whether it be the behavior of the parents, sibling rivalry, lifestyle problems, abuse, etc.
In order to understand and remedy your hatred towards your family, it is firstly important to dissect the source and cause of the hatred. Here are some of the common reasons why you might be feeling this way about your family:
Abuse
Abuse at the hands of the parents or other family members might also be the reason why you hate your family.
Conflicting personalities
Just because you hail from the same family does not mean you are cut from the same cloth. Every person has different experiences that shape their subjectivities. Therefore, it is very much possible that you are not like your family, and that is where the dislike stems from.
The differences in perspectives and viewpoints may then make you feel like an alien and a misfit within your own family. You operate at a different frequency as the rest of the clan, and therefore, you might not feel like a part of them, thereby leading to the formation of resentment that boils into hate.
At times, your personality differences might be something you are mocked or taunted about, which may exacerbate the situation.
Lack of boundaries
To have healthy relationships, having healthy boundaries. The lack thereof then leads to feelings of hatred.
Some forms of poor boundaries include lack of equal treatment and respect, disregarding the member’s personal space, controlling the family members and meddling in their affairs, not giving them enough privacy, making unreasonable demands, etc.
Neglect
Giving birth does not mean that you are fit to be a parent. There are many families in which children are subjected to neglect at the hands of the parent. This can be intentional or unintentional even. In the former, parents do not want to be saddled with the responsibility of children.
It is also very common amongst addicts to not be concerned about their children. Unintentional abuse might stem from having parents who are extremely busy with their work or some other family member. This happens especially when one of the children has special needs.
Toxic family
Having a toxic family also takes a great toll on the health, and thus paves way for feelings of hatred towards its members. The toxicity manifests in different forms; you may have been exploited by your family. Or your family might not have been supportive enough, leaving you alone through your formative years.
Disrespect is also a sign of a toxic relationship. Moreover, toxic family members also tend to be overly negative. They hold you responsible for everything that goes wrong. This toxicity then impedes the growth of the person, hence, causing the hate to develop. If you have been a part of a toxic family, you might also then face behavioral, emotional, and psychological problems. Therefore, you should seek help from a Psychologist in Islamabad to undo the trauma you have sustained at the hands of your family.
