Hello and welcome to paradise. That is, of course, if your idea of paradise is a white-sand resort on the edge of the ocean with views for days and a chocolate museum to boot. Yes, a chocolate museum, though the best things to do in Punta Cana encompass far more than sweet, sweet chocolate. The Dominican Republic’s easternmost region is the island nations most touristic, with an incredible range of hotels waiting to host those seeking 32 kilometres of unbeatable beaches and stunningly clear water. Punta Cana is a biodiversity haven, complete with national parks, adventure activities, and, yes, a chocolate museum.

    1 Scape Park

The limestone topography and pristine jungle of this natural theme park provide many stunning views and walks, as well as historical attractions. The Farallon Cliff stretches 800 metres along the coast and includes a hidden cenote, caves, and a zipline. The park’s goal was also to embrace Latin America’s and the Caribbean’s cultural heritage and traditions, with replica homes of the ancient Taino Indians who occupied the land before the Conquistadors arrived.

    2 Ecological park

A subtropical forest ecological park and reserve covering 1,500 acres. This is a private property that is dedicated to conservation and scientific research. The 12 freshwater lagoons, five of which are swimmable, are open to visitors. Guama Lagoon is 26 feet deep, and many people enjoy diving off the platform – definitely one for the GoPro.

    3 ChocoMuseo

A chocolate museum dedicated to all things chocolate. Aside from the fact that it’s a chocolate museum? ChocoMuseo is free, and you can visit the ‘bean to bar’ factory to learn about the process, beginning with cacao harvesting and ending with chocolate history. You’ll even have the opportunity to participate in a chocolate-making workshop.

    4 Bavaro Beach

A white sand beach with a variety of watersports. The clear waters off Bavaro Beach are ideal for snorkelling, and many hotels along the strip provide snorkelling equipment as part of your stay. There are also numerous dive sites for the more daring. Parasailing, windsurfing, or simply swimming in the shallow natural pools separated by reefs are all options.

    5 Saona Island

If you want to get away from the crowds, Saona Island is the place to go. The island is part of the East National Park and a government-protected nature reserve. The island is teeming with wildlife, from birds to a beach teeming with starfish. During nesting season, you might see sea turtles laying their eggs.

    6 Capri Beach House

A lovely beachfront restaurant and guesthouse. The Capri Beach House has a laid-back, non-chain vibe. It’s casual, unpretentious, and by the sea. It’s tucked away in a little area that the developers haven’t yet visited, where there are plenty of characterful independent cafés frequented by locals, as well as gift shops and art stalls. Sit under the palm trees with a pia colada in hand and order the reasonably priced lobster.

    7 Jellyfish

A restaurant that serves local seafood and shellfish. The setting alone is worth a visit. To get here, walk along Bavaro Beach and enjoy the stunning sea views over lunch or a sunset dinner while listening to the waves. Snapper, mahi-mahi, and sea bass are among the best dishes, all smothered in a delicious house sauce.

    8 Coco Bongo

A lively nightclub with ten shows per night. This club knows how to put on a show; throughout the night, impersonators perform performances by artists such as Michael Jackson and Queen. On stage at all times are trapeze artists, professional singers and dancers. In addition, the club has an open bar; simply pay the entrance fee.

    9 Hoyo Azul

This sinkhole (cenote) is hidden at the base of a 75-meter cliff and is an important part of Scape Park. The turquoise waters entice visitors. The Blue Hole (Hoyo Azul) is a natural phenomenon filled with crystal-clear water. It’s best to go early because it can get crowded, and don’t forget to bring a swimming suit if you want to swim in the waters.

    10 Macao Beach

Punta Cana’s public beach, which is popular with locals, especially on Sundays. It’s a popular surfing spot and was named one of the Caribbean’s best beaches by UNESCO, thanks to the clear waters and lovely white sand fringed by tall palm trees.

Enjoy every bit of everything in Punta Cana and enjoy your vacation here!
