This year’s Consumer Electronics Show was held virtually thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. It usually was an in-person trade show in Las Vegas which was made virtual by the Consumer Technology Association this year. The aim of making it virtual was to deliver innovation and to help keep the buzz of the event alive among the general public.

The show made history as the largest digital tech event and it featured technological gadgets. Which promise everything ranging from amplified gaming experiences to smart face masks.

While these latest products are exciting especially in their promises of providing faster tech and potentially answering queries. About user-friendliness and cyber security, tech innovations are always great and welcomed.

However, no one should take a step that jeopardizes their online digital privacy and safety just for the sake of speed and convenience.

Also, keeping on top of mind: the rolling out of these new technological products took place during the peak stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. Numerous new gadgets addressing the safety and health of consumers in tough times like these were launching.

Other products showcased make anyone’s home much smarter than perceived. This can help when a lot of people are homebound. Yet, other products make good use of advances made in 5G (which is backing the Internet of Things).

Are mobile app development professionals interested in the consumer electronics show held each year?

Professionals from a firm of mobile app development Toronto reveal that the interest of app development professionals in the annual Consumer Electronics. Show (CES) has always presented to them a golden opportunity to check for the latest electronic items and gadgets.

They also check notable technological trends coming their way which are thus relatable to new devices, gaming preferences, identity, home and family. It should be undertanding that technological advancements can bring in new issues especially in terms of cyber security.

As Microsoft President Brad Smith stated in his speech at the 2021 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in his keynote address. It is hence crucial for industry leaders to strive for greater protection of the privacy and digital safety of all kinds of users, regardless of their background or heritage.

With ransomware attacks rising each day, cyber security is hence important. This is the reason why both consumers and organizations alike are placing more reliance on three key technologies namely. Artificial intelligence augmented reality and machine learning.

What are the key takeaways from the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) of 2021?

Here are the key takeaways of the 2021 Consumer Electronics Show (CES):

COVID-19 safety technology is taking a shot at the pandemic

Many new technological concepts address what consumers have in their minds albeit not through any mind-control technology. What the sentence means is that consumers want to stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Organizations are leading the way with what is known as Artificial Intelligence of Things (IoT) especially in the form of smart face masks. Robots carrying out disinfection, smart technology-based air filtration systems and body sensors that can easily detect COVID-19 symptoms.

An example would be Bosch focusing on pandemic-related technology with its rollout of three products: a rapid COVID-19 home test. A sensor that measures air quality and air humidity. Moreover, the company is making security cameras using AI-based analysis. For measuring body temperature without any contact and in an obscure manner.

Smart-home technology is raising its IQ level

Advancements in smart home technology were also among the event’s main highlights. As more people are working cyber security from home, smart home products have become quite attractive (hire app developer).

A prime example is the Lockly Duo smart door lock. It uses a biometric system to lock and unlock doors either via a person’s voice or through their fingerprint. The remote integration with Alexa and Google Assistant also enables consumers. To use the door lock via remote means along with checking its status in real-time on their phones.

As observed with other devices using biometric authentication for confirming a user’s cyber security identity. It is hence crucial that these products also protect the security and privacy of consumers. If protection does not keep up with a technological gadget’s tech advancements. It might be easy to see how biometric devices can be hacked and negatively impacted by either a privacy or security breach.
